This whole cross-posting thing to Twitter and Facebook is utter bollocks. If I want to pimp a story or pictures on Twitter, I will share the page. LJ is my safe haven. I have a group of friends, some I have gotten to meet in person, some I know their real names (gasp!), and some it doesn't matter. No one from anyplace I have worked is on LJ (except REALLY close friends like [livejournal.com profile] knitchick1979 or [livejournal.com profile] chicago_girl_07), no one in my theatre company is on LJ, and no one from my University or family is on LJ. This is my place to vent, and unfortunately, be honest.

Get with the program LJ. I don't want to put my future career at risk, especially to people who only have a small percentage of the information. I, also, don't want to lose this family.

Make sure you add this to the 75+ pages of comments they've received. All but one (and from their poor grammar and abuse of the other commenters, I think it's a sockpuppet) have been variations of DO NOT WANT. Also, if you have a paid account, go into your settings and remove the automatic payment option. When they send you the e-mail confirmation, you can reply to tell them why you're not going to automatically renew.

I will do that when I am on the laptop later. This is ridiculous. And I was just about to buy more icons. *sigh* Something like this they should poll users on.

I cannot find the link to complain to LJ.

You'll have to prove you're human to post the comment--it broke 5000 comments yesterday morning.

Yeah, I feel ya! This is SUCH a bad idea! Especially since you can't ACTUALLY disable it.

There are reasons I left MySpace, and Facebook is now a "professional" thing now. I have 400 friends on FB, most who are related to me, close friends, or people I have worked with. Why did they do this? If we wanted Facebook we would be on Facebook. They already had an option you could cross-post with Facebook... that wasn't good enough?

There is a way to kind of disable it with a custom CSS code. Do you need it?
