Whoniverse Photoshoot 2009

And now you shall all see my photos from the photoshoot knitchick1979 and I hosted in the Chicagoland area a couple of weeks ago. I was using a FILM camera and was trying to do some set-ups, keep people corralled and manage the shoot, so I did not get as many as the pro did. For those, check out The Enthusiasts (Who are quite awesome.).

Here you will find my photos, not in any specific order, but rather grouped by category. This is NOT DIAL-UP FRIENDLY. I repeat, NOT DIAL-UP FRIENDLY, but should be fine for viewing in the library (especially some of them!) So, until then...

As you can probably tell, we got some ideas from Time Crash among other places. Two Tens, a Two, A Five, a Four, and a Nine-to-Ten. Not bad... Of course...

After those introductions, we took a little tour, made a few stops at New New Earth, hit Utopia, swung by Torchwood, and did some spying like every good Timelord does when trouble is afoot!

On to the Adventures!































And no matter what...



... don't look back on your adventures with a heavy heart, they will always be worth it. Also, amongst everything that a can happen in the great, wide universe--

And of course, just like any Doctor Who or Torchwood set, there was commiserating and fun times to be had!

Even Timelords know how to laugh!






(In case you didn't get it, we realized that "2 times 5 equals 10." Yep, brilliant idea at the time. We thought it was cute!)




(Jack and Donna had a break in shooting, so they took off together to go do what Jack and Donna would do if given a break from The Doctor. THEY DISCUSSED LIBRARIES! Jeez! Get your head out of the gutter, someone would think you had been watching some sci-fi show about alien sex-gas or something...)










And since we were in the neighborhood, we made a pit stop by WTTW Channel 11 studios. It was because of the PBS station WTTW in Chicago that Doctor Who was broadcast in America and gained such popularity in the beginning. We had to say it:

All in all, I know I had a blast that day. It was a long day, but it was full of fun times, good photos, geekiness, and REALLY AWESOME PEOPLE! We are planning another Chicagoland photoshoot for Spring, and will keep you informed. I hope you liked these pictures and look into an intriguing day. Thank you! My old Pentax is starting to feel old, but she still gives me her all when she can and when I can find film to buy. The rainy weather was not the best earlier in the day for a long lens and 800 speed film. I was lazy, I didn't want to carry the other 3 lens with me all day, along with the other junk and a dalek.

Two's face looking at the sonic screwdriver is just priceless! Next time I'll not have quite such gaudy hair, I hope (I did black it up for Halloween, but as I suspected the stuff got on EVERYTHING so I'm just as glad not to have risked the Good Scarf)...

Hee-hee-hee, it was a blast. I do like the running theory of Tonks being a DW fan and apparating in to have some fun. There's a fic there somewhere... **Shoves plotbunny in your hand!** No givie-backies! I have enough, thank you.

Chicago TARDIS... I seem to remember something about that being on my calendar... I will be driving there and back, just on Sunday I might be leaving early because I might have tech for a show. I don't see why not, it's not like the Dalek in the front seat scared you last time, although she kept trying to make out with the scarf...

Scary thing, the one Ten, the Five and the photographer were the only guys at the shoot. All the rest? Women. Felt like an episode of Maury Povich, in a good way.

Why is it the MAJORITY of Jack cosplayers are women? I am rather intrigued by that.

The big thing is we had fun and they got to show off their handiwork. YEAH! I am glad you liked the photos as well! Thank you!

Oh, I'll have to tell her you think she was awesome, that will make her squee.

That merry-go-round thing was at the local college. It was a "bridge" in the middle of a ditch that went nowhere. Not even sure why it is there since it wouldn't even work if the ditch was flooded because the ramps up to the bridge are at the bottom of the ditch.

Found some awesome sights this shoot and have more already picked out for the Spring shoot. I can't wait!
