The Best of Intentions
Owen resisted for about five minutes, but finally gave up. He craned his neck and glared at the only other person in the Hub at that time of night - Jack.
“Yes?” Owen exasperatedly asked.
Jack pulled a chair over and sat down, balancing the coffee cup he had been holding on one knee. Owen resisted the urge to roll his eyes as Jack just stared at him, and returned to the program he had been running on the computer.
“What?” Owen finally exploded at him, whipping his head around.
“I saw you two at Gwen’s wedding,” Jack said. “Do you intend to just string Tosh along?”
“That is none of your business, captain.”
“We all know how she feels about you,” Jack stated, taking a sip of the coffee. He steeled his gaze on Owen. “I would hate for her to be hurt even more by you.”
Owen clenched his jaw. “I have no intention of hurting Tosh,” Owen stated as his dark eyes glowered at Jack. “And if anyone else does, they’ll have me to deal with.”
“Good,” Jack stated, grinning into his coffee as he took a sip. Jack stood up, walking past Owen, giving the medic’s shoulder a squeeze.
